An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Live-in Housekeeper to join a prestigious private family estate in Somerset.
This is a long-term, permanent position for a highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented professional who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautiful home to impeccable standards. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the interior housekeeping, presentation and day-to-day organisation of the main residence and guest accommodation, working closely with the PA/House Manager and Groundsman to ensure the estate runs seamlessly.
The family are seeking someone who naturally anticipates needs, is discreet and trustworthy, and thrives in a high-end private household environment.
Extra Details of the Role
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Full housekeeping of the six-bedroom main residence and guest cottages
- Detailed cleaning and presentation of bedrooms, bathrooms, living and entertaining spaces
- Preparing the property for family stays and visiting guests
- Laundry, ironing, linen and wardrobe management to an exceptional standard
- Caring for delicate fabrics, luxury clothing and arranging dry cleaning where required
- Maintaining fine art, antiques, silverware, china, crystal and specialist finishes
- Managing household supplies, inventories and stock levels
- Ordering groceries, toiletries, cleaning products and household essentials
- Managing deliveries, online shopping and household errands
- Organising pantries, cupboards and storage areas
- Preparing breakfast and assisting with simple family lunches and dinners
- Supporting entertaining with table setting, food preparation and guest service
- Welcoming guests and ensuring the home is beautifully presented before and after events
- Monitoring basic household technology, Wi-Fi, appliances and media systems
- Supporting the family with occasional errands and travel
- Assisting with the care of the family dogs
- Maintaining a discreet, unobtrusive presence when the family are in residence
- Approximately 3–4 weeks of annual travel to the family’s European residence
