How to Join Signature Staff

01

Introduction

Having received your application and CV, we will always endeavour to get a clear understanding of the following;

  • What type of work you’re looking for
  • Your level of experience
  • The working hours and days required
  • Where you want to work
  • Do you have checkable references
  • Do you have relevant working rights for the location you wish to work
02

Interview invitation

After the initial introduction, we’ll book you in for a face-to-face interview with one of our consultants at our central London office. For the interview we’ll need the following:

  • Completed candidate registration form (we’ll share this prior to the interview)
  • Passport and visa (if applicable)
  • Any relevant certificates you might hold (first aid, education, etc)
  • DBS or your home country police-check
03

Face-to-face interview with Signature

We feel a face-to-face meeting is important – it helps us to build an understanding of you so that we can match you with the right family and also enables you to get to know us.

During the interview:

  • We’ll go through your candidate registration form, making sure we have a thorough understanding of your career, qualifications and expectations in your next role
  • We will also discuss details of any current roles we have which may appeal to you

*N.B. we conduct all candidate interviews in person, unless COVID guidelines determine that a face-to-face meeting via Zoom, Facetime etc. is required

04

Client Interview Prep

The Signature team will undertake the following:

  • Check your references – we try and collate as many as we can, but as long as we have at least two long term references checked we can submit you for roles
  • Work with you to help prepare for interviews, including offering advice on creating the best CV and providing tips on interview techniques
  • Create a profile for you which will summarise your CV and experiences, to be shared with clients alongside your CV
05

Interviews

We’ll be in touch with you to arrange interviews and subsequent trials for the jobs you’re interested in. An overview of the process is provided below:

  • We’ll always email you a confirmation of this including the type of interview (phone, face to face, video etc), time of the interview and location if necessary
  • The email will also include contact numbers so you can reach out to the client directly if you’re having problems getting there on time or finding their house etc
  • After your interview or trial, please do call or email your consultant with feedback as soon as you can
  • Your consultant will also reach out to the client for comment and feed this back to you as soon as possible
06

Contract Agreed

Once you receive a job offer:

  • We’ll confirm the final job description and salary offered
  • We’ll liaise with both you and the employer to help negotiate if necessary
  • Once both parties are happy, we will ensure contracts are drawn up in accordance with local requirements and both parties fully understand all aspects
07

After care & support

Once you’ve started work:

  • Your consultant will check in with you from time to time in the first few months
  • We are always on hand to answer any questions, provide advice and generally offer support and guidance as required
  • Please don’t hesitate to call your consultant and have a chat

*N.B. We also run coffee mornings, events and social outings if you’d like to join in – sign up for our newsletter for the latest news.
