Head Recruitment Consultant – Household Staff & Childcare
Tonya leads the day-to-day activities of the Private Household division, which encompasses both the Household Staff and Childcare Teams.
The Household Staff team leads on the recruitment and placement of Domestic Couples, Estate Managers and Housekeepers, whereas the Childcare team includes the placement of both nannies and maternity nurses.
With a wealth of experience in the Private Household sector, Tonya works closely with clients and candidates to deliver a highly personalised service.
After leaving her family’s farm in South Africa at eighteen, Tonya spent seven years as an international nanny before joining our ranks as a receptionist in 2002.
She soon made herself indispensable and is now one of the best-known names in the industry, as well as the cog that keeps the office turning. Tonya is a foodie, loves going on curious tours around the city and her specialist subject is London Public Transport.
Head Recruitment Consultant – Corporate Hospitality
Emily is responsible for managing all corporate temporary and prermanent placements across our Corporate Hospitality Desk, liasising with clients and candidates on a daily basis.
Emily also plays a key role overseeing our growing corporate events business to deliver best-in-class hospitality events to our corporate and private client base.
Her enthusiasm for the hospitality industry began when she completed the Leith’s School of Food and Wine. This led to her working in a high-end lodge in the Kruger National Park for 4 months, splitting her time between working in a busy kitchen and front of house.
When not in the office Emily enjoys playing team sports, walking and discovering local gin distilleries.
Managing Director & Chairman
As Managing Director, James oversees the strategic direction of the business and assists with day-to-day management.
James has a background in finance where he has more than 10 years experience investing in and providing operational oversight to companies across a diverse range of sectors including recruitment, luxury retail, professional services, school uniform, automotive, building materials, and film distribution.
James enjoys exploring new countries, and is a huge fan of great food and wine.
Head of Accounts – Corporate Hospitality
Cathy joined the leading hospitality recruitment agency, Blues Agency, in 1989 after a career in Australia, working for Myer as an Accounts and Payroll Administrator.
After joining Blues Agency, she completed a three-month cookery course at Leiths. Cathy has developed a wonderful working relationship with all our clients and candidates. She is responsible for the weekly payroll, accounts and invoicing.
Cathy loves to travel in Europe and Australia.
Recruitment Consultant – Childcare
Farah joined Signature Staff as a Resourcer in 2021 and has since quickly transitioned from an administration role to becoming a Recruitment Consultant on the childcare team, which she combines extremely well with her Office Manager role.
Farah studied at Kingston University, gaining a degree in Nutrition. With previous experience in administration and customer care, she is able to work efficiently and also build a strong rapport with both candidates and clients.
Farah enjoys dancing, attending various exercise classes, visiting new places and spending time with friends and family.
Recruitment Consultant & Events Manager – Corporate Hospitality
Lucy joined our team in 2022 after graduating from Oxford Brookes with a degree in Business and Marketing Management. As a Recruitment Consultant & Events Manager, she is responsible for facilitating temporary placements across a number of key corporate and private clients.
Lucy also plays a key role as an Events Manager in our growing corporate events business to deliver best-in-class hospitality events to our corporate and private client base.
After growing up in Cheshire, Lucy moved down to London to start her career in recruitment. She has an extremely good grounding and knowledge of the hospitality industry, gained from previously working as a Chalet Host in France as well as having completed Orchards Cookery School.
Outside of the office, Lucy loves travelling, sailing, and spending time with family and friends.
Recruitment Consultant – Childcare
Ellie joined the team as a recruitment administrator in 2021 after leaving university having completed her degree in English Language and Linguistics. She has been promoted into a Recruitment Consultant role taking on more responsibility with both candidates and clients in the process.
She has a background in customer service which has given her an eye for detail and strives to help candidates have the most positive experience as possible.
Ellie grew up on the Sussex coast and enjoys a good dog walk, as well as live music and travelling.
Recruitment Consultant & Events Manager – Corporate Hospitality
Izzy works as a Consultant & Events Manager in our hospitality division. In 2023, she joined our team after graduating from Exeter University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Her role involves resourcing new candidates across the hospitality division ensuring professional relationships are built from the offset in addition to managing her own clients.
Izzy also plays a key role as an Events Manager in our growing corporate events business to deliver best-in-class hospitality events to our corporate and private client base.
Izzy’s hands-on experience in the hospitality field, including working at a gastro-pub and various high-end events, has given her a broad understanding of the industry and what is involved to ensure our staff meet our client’s standards.
Outside of the office, Izzy loves playing team sports, travel and spending quality time with her friends and family.
Junior Consultant – Corporate Hospitality
Matilda joined Signature Staff in 2024 after graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in Sociology.
Her role as a Junior Consultant includes managing client relationships across both Corporate Hospitality and Private Household Hospitality. She also oversees the resourcing of new candidates across the hospitality division ensuring professional relations are built right from the start.
Matilda has a range of hospitality experience working at high-end private events, both as an Assistant Chef and in front of house roles. She has also worked as a nanny during university holidays for high profile and HNW families in The Cotswolds.
Outside of the office, Matilda enjoys cooking for family and friends and long dog walks in the countryside.
Junior Consultant – Household Staff
Bethan joined Signature Staff in 2025 as a Recruitment Executive in our Private Household division. Graduating from the University of Exeter in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History, she joined the team after spending a year working in Logistics and Compliance.
In her role, Bethan is actively managing placements within the Private Household division including for Housekeepers, Domestic Couples, Housekeeper/Cooks etc. She is also integral in sourcing top-tier candidates within the private household space, ensuring strong and reliable relationships are established from the start.
Bethan’s professional background, combined with her adaptable and personable approach, provides her with a strong understanding of the private household industry and the high standards required by our clients and candidates.
Outside of the office, Bethan enjoys finding new food spots with friends, and spending time by the sea, particularly cold-water swimming.
Recruitment Resourcer - Household Staff & Childcare
Phoebe joined Signature Staff in 2026 as a Recruitment Resourcer in our Private Household division, following her graduation from Oxford Brookes University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Having worked in childcare herself, Phoebe understands both sides of the recruitment process. As a gap-year student at a school in Wiltshire, she cared for the pre-prep age group while working alongside teaching staff and families. She later worked as a nanny for private families during her university holidays. These roles showed her what families expect from their household staff and what candidates look for in a role. Combined with her psychology degree, this helps her match the right people with the right households.
In her free time, Phoebe enjoys exploring London and discovering new food spots. She also has a passion for genealogy research.
Recruitment Resourcer - Corporate Hospitality
Mary joined Signature Staff in July 2026 as a Recruitment Resourcer in our Hospitality division, following her graduation from Newcastle University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Her role involves sourcing new candidates across the division and building strong professional relationships from the very first conversation.
Mary brings a wide range of hospitality experience, having worked at a variety of high-end events and completed training at both Leiths and Orchards Cookery School. This has given her a practical understanding of the standards clients expect and what candidates look for in a role. Combined with her sociology degree, this helps her match the right people with the right clients.
Outside of the office, Mary enjoys sports, travel and spending time with friends and family.
