A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Groundsman / Maintenance professional to take full responsibility for the exterior maintenance, presentation and security of a substantial private family estate.

Overview
This hands-on role requires someone with strong practical skills, excellent initiative and a genuine passion for maintaining beautiful grounds and buildings to the highest standard. Working closely with the Housekeeper and family, you will ensure the estate is safe, well maintained and operating efficiently throughout the year.
During the family’s annual summer stay in Greece, you will remain at the estate to care for the property, grounds and family dogs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining gardens, lawns, borders and surrounding grounds
- Planting, pruning, weeding, mulching and seasonal garden care
- Operating and maintaining garden machinery
- Supporting landscaping projects
- Carrying out general property maintenance and repairs
- Monitoring plant rooms and estate systems
- Maintaining the swimming pool
- Cutting, storing and preparing firewood
- Pressure washing driveways and pathways
- Cleaning and maintaining estate vehicles
- Managing waste, recycling and estate cleanliness
- Providing full care for the family’s dogs, including feeding, walking and vet visits
- Monitoring surrounding farmland and reporting maintenance issues
- Managing estate security systems including CCTV, alarms and gates
- Conducting daily estate inspections and preventative maintenance
- Managing tools, equipment and property keys
- Liaising with the House Manager, PA and contractors
- Managing oil deliveries and general estate logistics
- Supporting pest control measures and general estate operations

Key Criteria
- Previous experience maintaining private estates or country properties
- Strong gardening, estate maintenance and DIY skills
- Chainsaw certification essential
- Experience operating agricultural and garden machinery
- Confident working in a rural environment
- Experience maintaining swimming pools and estate systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Comfortable caring for dogs and working around animals
- Full clean UK driving licence preferred
- Non-smoker
- No dependants or pets
- Outstanding, verifiable references demonstrating long-term commitment in similar roles
