What is a Norland nanny?

Norland College has been providing best-in-class Norland nannies for over 130 years.

Students study a BA Degree in Early Years Development and Learning, followed by a year being monitored as a New Qualified Nanny before finally being able to call themselves a Norlander.

These nannies will go on to work as overseas nanniesliveout nannies, livein nannies and maternity nurses.

During their training they will have hands on experience working in a variety of placements which will offer them an intimate understanding of the job, backed up by the excellent academic training provided by the college.

Norland nanny duties can include; arranging age applicable activities and trips, cooking meals, overseeing homework, children’s laundry & ironing, providing feedback to parents and developing routines.

Availability

Norland nanny will undertake any live out, live in, rota, international nanny position and hence a Norland nanny will work the hours dictated by those roles.

Salary expectations

Norland nanny salary will be dependent on whichever role (live out, live in, overseas, rota) they apply for, but will likely be at a premium to their counterparts who don’t have the Norland nanny qualification.

FAQs

How long does it take to hire a nanny?
Open How long does it take to hire a nanny?

The average time to recruit a nanny from start to finish is 2-6 weeks.

The Signature Staff team spend a considerable amount of effort to draw up a shortlist of candidates whom are the best-fit for your household based on your requirements and their skill-set and personality.

Further time needs to be allowed for the schedules of both the client and candidates for interviews and possible subsequent trials particularly for overseas roles.

If you require and position to be filled urgently please advise your consultant of your anticipated time frame and we will work out hardest to fulfil your request.

For a temporary nanny the process can prove to be over a significantly shorter time frame (as little as 1 hour).
