Live-Out Housekeeper / Cook- ASAP Start, Mid-Berkshire

Our client is searching for a Daily Housekeeper/ Cook to join a team on a large family estate, ensuring the smooth-running operation of the household and grounds.

• Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 gross per annum

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced, organised and enthusiastic Live-Out Housekeeper / Cook to join an established household team on a beautiful private family estate in Mid Berkshire.

The main residence comprises six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, with the family regularly welcoming extended family and guests, particularly at weekends.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the property to an excellent standard, managing laundry and ironing, and preparing healthy, home-cooked meals for the family.

The estate benefits from kitchen gardens and orchards, and the family would particularly welcome someone who enjoys cooking with fresh, seasonal produce.

This role would suit a proactive, hardworking and capable Housekeeper / Cook who takes pride in their work, is comfortable caring for fine furnishings and valuable possessions, and enjoys working within a busy private household.

Extra Details of the Role

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Carrying out daily housekeeping and regular deep cleaning
• Maintaining all bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms and communal areas to a high standard
• Managing family laundry, ironing and bed linen changes
• Preparing healthy, fresh family meals throughout the week
• Cooking family-style meals for extended family and guests during weekends when required
• Making use of seasonal produce from the estate’s kitchen gardens and orchards
• Caring for valuable antiques, artwork and delicate furnishings
• Maintaining household organisation and presentation standards
• Assisting with the care of the family’s dogs and hens as required
• Supporting the wider household team and ensuring the smooth running of the home
• Preparing the property for family visits and entertaining

Key Criteria

• Previous experience as a Housekeeper / Cook within a private household, with excellent cleaning, laundry and family cooking skills
• Confident driver with excellent English communication skills (C1 level)
• Proactive, organised and hardworking, with experience caring for fine furnishings and a non-smoking lifestyle
