A warm, relaxed family are looking for an experienced live-in Housekeeper to join their secondary countryside home from January 2027.

Overview:
We are seeking a proactive live-in housekeeper who can take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running and upkeep of our client’s secondary country home. The family live in a seven-bedroom family home with a separate cottage, a swimming pool and converted stables which are now used as a gym.
Cooking is part of the role, although the family are very relaxed and family-style in their approach. Due to the rural location of this role, a driver with their own car is essential.
The family have two dogs and a rabbit and are looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable around animals. The dogs currently travel with the family but longer term they would like the Housekeeper to be able to care for them when the family are away.
This is a secondary residence, and the family are there for approximately half of the year, usually most weekends during the school term times and over the Christmas period. With good visibility of their calendar well in advance, they do travel frequently and tend to not be at the property for periods of the summer and easter.
There is some entertaining throughout the year, including smaller dinner parties, summer parties and guests staying at weekends. During these periods, the Housekeeper should be flexible with their hours, including occasionally staying later or coming in earlier to prepare breakfast, but external staff like a chef and extra bar and waiting staff will be hired to assist.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Traditional housekeeping throughout the home, such as hoovering, mopping, dusting
- Family laundry, bed linens and ironing
- Cleaning windows and polishing silver
- Managing household stocks and supplies, running errands and grocery shopping
- Liaising with contractors such as boiler servicing
- Train station and airport runs
- Cooking simple family style meals
- Cooking breakfast whilst guests are staying and assisting with evening dinner parties
- Pet care

Key criteria:
- Driver license and own car required
- At least 5 years + experience working as a live-in housekeeper in a countryside Private household
- Proactive and able to manage own time effectively
