Domestic Couple – Private Island near Stockholm – ASAP Start

A UHNW family is seeking a professional Domestic Couple with a yachting or similar hands-on background to manage and maintain one of their private islands near Stockholm.

• Working Hours: 5 days per week with 2 days off
• Salary: €100,000–€125,000 gross per annum combined (Swedish contract) 

Overview

The family use the island as a secondary residence and are currently in the midst of renovations on this property. Until the renovations are complete, the successful couple will be based primarily at the family’s Stockholm residence, supporting the existing household team and learning the family’s standards and routines.

The family spend approximately one month per year on the island in total, mainly for weekends and shorter stays, often with last-minute plans. The property must therefore be maintained in constant readiness.

The role requires flexibility, independence, and confidence managing a remote property, particularly during winter months and in adverse weather conditions.

Duties included but not limited to:

Technical and Outdoor Operations

• Managing the island’s infrastructure and technical operations
• General property maintenance and repairs
• Snow clearing and seasonal preparation
• Overseeing boats, jet skis, and watercrafts
• Managing contractors and service providers
• Groundskeeping and outdoor upkeep

Housekeeping and Hospitality

• Maintaining the property to exceptional standards
• Housekeeping and household organisation
• Care of fine finishes and furnishings
• Preparing breakfast and light lunches for the family
• Preparing the house for arrivals and guest stays
• Supporting with logistics and household supplies

Shared Duties

• Daily care of chickens and sheep
• Supporting at the family’s other European properties when required
• Working together to ensure the smooth running of the property

• Private accommodation is provided. This is an apartment annex to the main property comprised of a private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area

Key Criteria

• Previous experience in UHNW households or  yachting
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• EU passport or legal right to work in Sweden
• Confident driver(s)
• Experience operating marine equipment, snow equipment, or similar advantageous
