We are seeking a proactive and flexible Domestic Couple to join a large private estate in the Southwest.
Highlights:
- Start: August 2026
- Location: Southwest England
- Working Hours: 45 hours per week, normally Monday – Friday. When family are in residence, weekends are required
- Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 gross per annum (combined)
Overview
The role requires a proactive and hands-on couple, with the ability to take sole charge while also working alongside other staff members across the estate.
The family value privacy and discretion. The property is typically used for long stays during the summer and Christmas (1–2 weeks), as well as weekends throughout the year. Flexibility is essential, and time off in lieu will be provided.
The estate is large (200+ acres) with farmland, livestock, and ongoing renovation projects, so the role will suit a couple who enjoy an active position.
Overseeing the care of the family dogs (with shared responsibility from other staff) is required.
Duties included but not limited to:
Housekeeping:
- General care and upkeep of the property with all usual housekeeping duties
- Assisting with service when the family are in residence, including serving and clearing at table
- Maintaining a high standard of presentation throughout the home
Property and Estate Maintenance:
- General maintenance and upkeep of the house
- Assisting with ongoing renovation projects
- Monitoring and maintaining fencing, hedges, and overall security of the land
- Supporting the upkeep of the wider estate, including farmland areas
Grounds and External Duties:
- Ensuring the grounds are well maintained
- Liaising with existing staff such as the groom and other estate workers where required
