We are seeking an experienced and child friendly domestic couple to join a formal and busy family with a young child.
Highlights:

- Location: Bloomsbury, London
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, occasional weekends with time off in lieu
- Salary: £80,000 to £85,000 gross per annum
Overview
The family travel frequently, and the couple will be responsible for keeping the six-bedroom main house beautifully maintained and ready at all times for the family and their guests. Housekeeping duties will also extend to the mews house on the property.
This position would suit those who are discreet, well-presented, and confident across all aspects of household management, including formal service and childcare.
There will also be an expectation to travel with the family for approximately one month in August (South of France) and one month in October (New York City) each year. Private accommodation will, of course, be provided whilst working abroad.
Duties include but not limited to:
Housekeeping:
- Maintain main house to readiness standard for family and guests
- Daily housekeeping duties in Mews house, including ironing, laundry and bed changes
- Prepare meals for family and informal dinners
- Produce high-quality meals for dinner parties (up to 12 guests) roughly once or twice a month
- Overnight care of school age daughter from time to time, including weekends
- Working 7.30am to 8pm with a break after lunch
Butler/Houseman:
- Butler service including formal table service and serving drinks
- Oversee maintenance and readiness of property and garden
- Liaise with contractors and manage household schedules
- Working 9am to 8pm with a break after lunch
Benefits:
- In Bloomsbury, studio flat with a private entrance is provided
- In New York and South of France, staff accommodation is provided
Key criteria:
- Dog friendly to care for the family dog on a part-time basis (grandmother also cares for dog)
- EU or British passport essential
- Formal household experience
- Both members of the couple must drive when in France
- No dependants but pets can be accommodated
