Our client is seeking a proactive, unflappable, and highly experienced House Manager to oversee the daily operations of a fully renovated, high-spec 10-bedroom residence in Chelsea. This is a pivotal role within a wider property management structure and requires a confident, hands-on individual who can maintain the highest standards while managing a small in-house team.
Highlights:
- Start: Summer 2025 (flexible for the right candidate)
- Location: Chelsea, London
- Working Hours: Full-time with increased hours during the summer season
- Salary: £80,000–£100,000 gross per annum DOE
This is a traditional, formal household who typically reside at the property 3 months over the summer. The successful candidate must be presentable, poised, and confident managing both people and a high-end home. You will be expected to work autonomously in the off-season with fewer responsibilities, and intensively while the family is in residence in the summer – including evenings and weekends as needed.
Duties include:
- Managing the in-house housekeeping team (typically 2, plus additional staff in the summer)
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations and upkeep of the property to the highest of standards
- Ensuring technical systems (e.g. AC, AV, lighting) are understood and demonstrated confidently to the client
- Supporting the family’s hosting and entertaining, including occasional large gatherings and afternoon teas
- Hands-on service when required, including table service and event preparation
- Maintaining an excellent relationship with the external Property Management team
- Upholding top-tier presentation and standards throughout all areas of the residence
- Being adaptable and stepping into various roles as needed, especially during busy periods, including housekeeping
Key criteria:
- Prior experience managing large, high-value private homes
- Arabic language skills are a plus but not essential
- Confident managing teams, leading by example, and ensuring excellence at all times
- Able to handle pressure and a seasonal work cycle, with a very busy summer and quieter winter where your duties are lighter
- Discreet, proactive, organised, and able to anticipate needs
- Familiarity with high-spec finishes and knowing when to involve professionals
- Must live within an easy commute to Chelsea
- Non-driver role – the position is largely house-based with occasional errands
This is a unique opportunity for a professional, service-focused House Manager to join a respectful and generous household. If you thrive in high-end, high-pressure environments and are looking for a long-term role with seasonal variation, we encourage you to apply.
