Overview
This is a varied role requiring someone who understands the developmental and educational needs of different age groups. The family is looking for a proactive nanny who can support the children’s early years development, assist with homework and reading, and encourage independence, curiosity and confidence.
The girls have tutors to help with exam prep and specific school work, but you’ll be required to help with homework, reading, and times tables. The eldest is at boarding school, so when he is around, it is mainly being a companion for him.
Your primary responsibility will be the baby. They have a maternity nurse who you will do a handover with, but he is a happy, healthy baby and is in a great routine. You’ll be in charge of sourcing classes and activities, arranging play dates, and generally overseeing his routine & development.
The family travels in all school holidays, but they only need you to join for up to 6 weeks of the trips.
The family has a small dog who is not your responsibility, but they’d be grateful for any walking and care.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Supporting the care and development of all four children
- Encouraging age-appropriate learning, play and development for the baby
- Supporting homework, reading and educational activities
- Supporting the girls with their academic work and learning

- Helping the children develop independence, confidence and organisational skills
- Understanding the different emotional and developmental needs of each child
- Working collaboratively with the family’s existing staff, including the housekeeper/Nanny, who handles nursery duties
- Maintaining clear communication with parents and tutors
Benefits
- Established household team, including a Housekeeper/Cook, Housekeeper/Nanny and driver
- Collaborative working environment
- Opportunity to support the children’s long-term educational and personal development
Key criteria
- Experienced nanny with strong knowledge of child development across multiple age groups
- Educationally minded, with confidence supporting homework, reading and academic progress
- Understanding of early years development and age-appropriate learning
- Warm, patient, organised and proactive
- Confident working as part of a wider household team
- Experience in a fully staffed household is preferred
- Comfortable caring for both a baby and older school-aged children
