Domestic Couple Required Near Winchester, Hampshire – ASAP Start

We are looking for an eager Domestic Couple to join a large established country estate near Winchester.

Highlights:

• Start: ASAP
• Location: Near Winchester, Hampshire
• Working Hours: Monday – Friday, with flexibility for weekend working whilst the family are in residence
•  Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 gross per annum 

Overview

Only one half of the domestic couple is required to have prior experience for this position, with the other being newer to the industry and keen to learn. As such, this represents a wonderful opportunity for those in the early stages of their private household career, offering the chance to gain experience within a well-established estate and supportive team environment.

The role varies in pace, becoming particularly busy when the family are in residence, and therefore requires a flexible, proactive, and hands-on approach.

A family dog is part of the household, so a natural love for animals is important. Throughout the shooting season, the family entertain frequently, and there will be an expectation to assist with the smooth running of these occasions.

Candidates should be comfortable working within a larger team environment, able to take direction with ease, and bring a positive, willing attitude to all aspects of the role.

Duties included but not limited to:

Housekeeping:

• Day to day cleaning of the large country house
• Family laundry, such as ironing and linens
• Providing healthy meals, specifically family style meals over the weekends whilst the extended family are visiting and providing shoot lunches and cooking for smaller scale dinner parties
• Caring for and preserving high value antiques and artwork
• Running errands, such as grocery shopping and dry cleaning drop offs

Gardening/maintenance:

• Assisting with the general maintenance and repairs of the house
• Servicing and maintaining the swimming pool
• Ensuring garden supplies are well stocked
• Preparation and supply of fire logs
• Updating the MOTs on the cars and general car upkeep
• Ensuring the gravel driveways and compost bays are immaculate
• Overseeing the care of the dog
• Please note – this is a very active and physically demanding role

• UK drivers licence essential for both members of the couple team
