Overview
Our client is seeking a compassionate and attentive Live-In Companion to support an elderly lady based in Kensington. The client is preparing to downsize locally and requires continuity of care during this transition.
The ideal candidate will be gentle, patient, and proactive, with experience supporting individuals with restricted mobility and mild memory loss. Practical care is just as important as companionship. The client enjoys chatting, listening to audiobooks, and maintaining her routine, including regular visits to the local farmers’ market.
The home has a daytime respite carer who will remain in place. The Live-In Companion will take the lead in ensuring the client’s comfort, safety, and well-being always.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Providing full personal companionship, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Supporting and maintaining personal hygiene routines
- Preparing and serving meals in line with a vegetarian/vegan diet
- Encouraging movement and engagement through walks and social activities
- Assisting the client with preparations for relocation to a new home
- Monitoring medication routines and health needs
- Offering emotional support and reassurance
- Liaising with the daytime respite carer and family members as needed

Key criteria
- Previous experience as a Live-In Companion or private companion essential
- Comfortable supporting a client with mild memory and vision loss
- Non-driver acceptable (use of taxis/cabs for outings)
