Experienced Housekeeper required in Wiltshire Borders – January 2026 Start 

We are assisting a valued client in the appointment of an Experienced Housekeeper to manage and maintain their substantial country estate to the highest standards.

Highlights:

• Start: January 2026
• Location: Wiltshire borders 
• Working hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 6:30pm (with flexibility for occasional weekends with time off in lieu)
• Salary: £50,000+ gross per annum(Dependent on experience)

Overview:

A unique opportunity had arisen for an Experienced Housekeeper to oversee the care and presentation of an elegant large country estate. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach and possess the ability to anticipate the needs of both the Principal and the household.

This position demands a deep understanding of the standards and protocols of a formal household and the confidence to assume full responsibility for maintaining such standards. The household includes a well-loved family dog, therefore, a fondness for animals and a genuine enjoyment of rural life is also essential.

The successful candidate will work harmoniously with the household team and assist with the preparation of family meals when required. Due to the remote location of the estate, the ability to drive is essential for both personal and duty related purposes. 

Duties included but not limited to:

• Traditional housekeeping duties, such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing
• Family laundry, washing and ironing of bed linens
• Deep understanding of the care of luxury items, such as antique furnishings and delicate clothing
• Occasional pet care, such as feeding the family dog
• Arrange and caring for the floral displays throughout the home
• Coordinating with other household staff and contractors
• Assisting with family style meals
• Greeting and assisting guests
• Running errands and keeping on top of household inventories.

Key criteria:

• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar HWN household
• A UK drivers’ licence, and those who choose to live out should be based within a reasonable commuting distance of the estate
• Someone who conducts themselves with the utmost professionalism, discretion, and integrity always
