We are on the hunt for a fluent Russian-Speaking Head Housekeeper to join a large home near Holland Park.
You will be heading a team of 5 housekeepers, so you will need to be a strong communicator, proactive and a pre-emptive problem-solver.
The family have multiple properties, including a staff property, therefore you will need to oversee and visit them as required.
Duties:
- Oversee daily cleaning activities to ensure that all areas of the residence are spotless and orderly. Be prepared to cover any house cleaning duties on an ad hoc basis
- Manage and schedule the housekeeping staff, organising their tasks and shifts to optimise efficiency and coverage
- Capable of reallocating staff during emergencies to the appropriate property and task
- Maintain inventory of all household supplies, ordering replacements and new items as needed to keep essentials in stock
- Welcome external service providers and receive mail and packages. Process household item returns
- Conduct research on new household products in the market, compare them, and present a discussion of findings
- Handle grocery/cleaning product shopping and other errands
- Keep a record of expenses and submit it by the end of the month to House Manager
- Enforce household cleaning standards and protocols, developing routines that uphold the home’s
- cleanliness and organization
- Handle any immediate housekeeping issues, resolving conflicts and making decisions to keep operations running smoothly
- Report regularly to the homeowners or house manager, providing updates on the household’s status and any concerns that need addressing
- Train new and existing housekeeping staff
- Supervise deep cleaning projects and seasonal maintenance tasks, planning these periods to minimise disruption to the household
- Wardrobe management and upkeep of clothes and linen, including minor repairs
- Folding and putting away washed and ironed items according to strict organisation protocols. Also be prepared to iron when necessary
- To clean and properly store seasonal clothing, utilise the fridge storage services and ensure all items are itemised
- Overseeing the maintenance of cleaning equipment which includes scheduling service appointments or addressing breakdowns
- Overseeing subcontractors for household services maintenance, including protecting areas with appropriate protective covers, and providing overshoes. In the absence of HM, check their work and report to HM with the outcome or any necessary information
- Maintain records for tailoring service and dry cleaning (what was provided and returned), itemised, dated and photographed
- Create monthly staff schedules that account for holidays and leave records of sickness to report to House Manager
The family has 4 cats, therefore an animal lover is essential but no pet care required.
There is an opportunity for travel, therefore you must have an EU passport to apply.
The ideal candidate will be someone calm, have strong initiative and be able to make decisions quickly and proactively.
The days/hours of the role are 9am – 5pm, 5 days per week, 2 days off which vary depending on the schedule. You may be required to work 6 days and stay later if required.
