We have a tremendous opportunity for a hardworking and flexible couple who are looking for their next long-term role.
This role is supporting a traditional elderly couple who live in their large home (9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms) mainly over the weekends. The couple are young at heart, with a big family and many friends who visit them regularly at weekends, so it is key that the candidates are happy to muck into a busy family environment and work around people of all ages.
The client currently has a full-time gardener so most of the duties for the couple will be inside the house with occasional assistance outside when the gardener needs it. The duties within this role include (but not limited to):
- Cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Laying the table beautifully
- Traditional housekeeping – cleaning the bedrooms and bathrooms, wiping down surfaces, vacuuming, polishing, mopping, dusting
- Stock checks of cleaning products/food ingredients
- Laundry/ironing, changing bed linen, making beds
- Dealing with contractors, running errands
- Driving the clients
- Light gardening when requested
- Occasional PA duties, such as booking appointments, emailing contractors, reviewing quotes
The clients are keen to highlight that they enjoy hosting family and friends at weekends so you must be comfortable cooking for dinner/lunch parties (including canapes). The clients also enjoy a freshly baked cake and biscuits for the weekend.
The staff accommodation is a beautiful country cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room and kitchen. You are required to work Thursday to Monday with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off each week. Whilst it will be full on at the weekend, the clients are in London during the week allowing for a full reset and a slower paced schedule.
The ideal candidates will be kind, happy to lend a hand wherever is needed and become an extension to the family. A car is provided and at least one half of the couple must be able to drive.
