Live In/Live Out Head Housekeeper Wanted Near Ascot – Start ASAP

We are on the hunt for an experienced Head Housekeeper to join a large team at a very large estate near Ascot, Surrey.

The housekeeper will work closely with the Estate Manager to create shifts and rotas, whilst carrying out spot checks on and delegating the junior housekeepers work to ensure the house is spotless at all times.

Duties will include:

• Stock taking and placing orders with the Head Housekeeper and Estate Manager
• Liaising with the Head Housekeeper on a daily basis to ensure the property is maintained to a high standard
• Complying with guidelines outlined for the proper use, protection and safety of tasks on particular those relating to the COSHH regulations
• Training on the Housekeeping team
• Cleaning of the house so that it is maintained to a 5* standard
• Taking responsibility of certain areas and tasks assigned by the Head Housekeeper
• Working on a rota system
• Having a good knowledge of the cleaning of marble, fine fabrics and different woods.
• Dusting of surfaces
• Watering of plants
• Emptying of bins
• Carrying out turndowns on the evening rota
• Assisting the Butlers with polishing of silver when required
• Sweeping of any balconies to ensure that no leaves or debris collect there
• Holding an excellent knowledge of fine fabrics
• Informing Head Housekeeper of what supplies are needed
• Able to carry out basic sewing and mending
• Assisting the Head Housekeeper with the inventory from the dry cleaners
• Ensuring the laundry room is maintained to the highest standards
• Creating systems for the storage of the linen
• Washing and ironing of all bed linen, table linen and towels, unless sent out to the dry cleaners
• Wardrobe management and packing and unpacking of suitcases, maintaining any systems that are already in place, such as the season change of wardrobes – folding, packing away and storing correctly
