We seeking an experienced sous chef to work at a high end members arts club, Monday – Friday. Start ASAP.

The ideal candidate will have had at least two years working in restaurants at CDP level or above and keen to develop their skills working with an extremely high level chef on various projects and events.

The sous chef will be expected to work closely with the head chef on menu planning, stock rotation and managing the kitchen team. The role is fast paced and no two days are the same, so having the ability to to think on your feet and adapt to last minute requirements is essential.

This is a unique opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their skillset, gain considerable responsibility in the kitchen whilst also having a work life balance.

• Job Title: Sous Chef
• Location: Central London
• Hours: 8am – 4pm + overtime when required (during busy sale periods)
• Days working: Monday – Friday
• Facilities: Formal set up, high spec commercial kitchen
• Main Duties: Assisting the head chef with all high end lunches, dinners, events
• Other relevant staff employed: the sous chef will be working alongside the head chef and hoping to employ a full time KP in due course (the sous chef will not be expected to do the washing up)
• Style of Food: Refined, versatile and creative
• Numbers: You will be cooking for anything between a small scale lunch (approx. 5 people) up to a approx. 150 person event
• Sourcing of produce: food ordering with suppliers
• Menu Planning: Assisting the head chef with up and coming weekly plans
• Personality: willing to be flexible with weekday hours, can do attitude, diligent and can work calmly and efficiently under pressure
• Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum
